Product Details

Main Component: Octreotide acetate, a synthetic cyclic octapeptide analog of natural somatostatin. Its chemical name is D-Phenylalanyl-L-cysteinyl-L-phenylalanyl-D-tryptophyl-L-lysyl-L-threonyl-L-cysteinyl-L-threoninol cyclic (27) disulfide acetate. The molecular formula is C₄₉H₆₆N₁₀O₁₂S₂・nCHCOOH, and the molecular weight is 1019.3 (calculated as the free peptide).

Uses:

Digestive System Diseases:

Used for the emergency treatment of esophageal-gastric variceal bleeding caused by liver cirrhosis, often in combination with endoscopic sclerotherapy or other specialized treatments.

Effective in treating stress ulcers and bleeding caused by peptic ulcers, as well as gastrointestinal fistulas.

Helps prevent and manage surgical complications related to pancreatic diseases, and is used to treat acute pancreatitis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

Endocrine System Diseases:

Alleviates symptoms and signs associated with functional gastrointestinal and pancreatic endocrine tumors, such as carcinoid syndrome, vasoactive intestinal peptide-secreting tumors (VIPomas), gastrinomas, insulinomas, glucagonomas, and growth hormone-releasing factor tumors.

Used for acromegaly patients who have failed to respond to surgery, radiotherapy, or dopamine receptor agonist therapy. It helps control symptoms and reduces the levels of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1).

Suitable for acromegaly patients who are unable or unwilling to undergo surgery, as well as those in the interim period before radiotherapy takes effect.

Also used to treat Graves' ophthalmopathy (exophthalmic goiter).
